This page explains how credits, links, and image licensing work for photographs created by Gil Stose Photography, and how we can support one another through correct attribution and optional link exchanges.

Copyright and Ownership

All photographs displayed on this website are © Gil Stose Photography. All rights reserved unless otherwise stated.

Booking photography services does not transfer copyright. Copyright remains with Gil Stose Photography unless a separate written agreement explicitly transfers ownership.

Licensing and Permitted Use

Images may only be used with an agreed license or written permission.

Depending on the project and what is licensed, permitted use may include:

  • Website and digital marketing

  • Social media posts (organic and paid, if agreed)

  • Print collateral (brochures, ads, signage, etc.)

  • Editorial publication

  • Portfolio and self-promotion by the client (within agreed scope)

Licenses are non-transferable unless explicitly stated in writing. If a third party needs usage rights (publisher, vendor, brand partner, PR firm, etc.), please request a separate license.

Uses That Require Written Permission

The following are not permitted without written consent:

  • Republishing images outside the agreed scope

  • Selling, sublicensing, or redistributing images

  • Stock usage or resale

  • Creating derivative works beyond normal formatting/cropping (as appropriate)

  • Removing or altering credits or embedded metadata

  • Using images to train AI models or include them in AI training datasets

Unauthorized use may require retroactive licensing fees and/or further action to protect rights and authorship.

When images are published online, proper credit is required unless otherwise agreed.
